Shea Pumarejo is the founder and principal designer of Studio Pumarejo, a San Antonio–based interior design studio specializing in transformational kitchen and bath environments.

With more than 30 years of experience, Shea is known for reimagining existing properties into deeply personal, highly functional homes designed to endure. Her work begins with structure — circulation, proportion, performance, and construction intelligence — before form, materiality, and atmosphere are layered with intention.

A Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer, Shea has designed and renovated more than 80 kitchens, led over 300 job sites, and earned more than 15 national design awards, including eleven NKBA honors. Her work has received international recognition at the International Design and Architecture awards in London England, and has been featured in Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Houston Lifestyles & Homes.

Shea’s approach is rooted in interpretation. She does not replicate trends or impose a signature aesthetic. Instead, she studies how her clients live, move, gather, retreat, and aspire — then sculpts environments that express identity through structure.

Her portfolio includes historic homes, luxury ranch properties, private residences, executive offices, international projects, and highly complex renovations for discerning clients. Across every project, Shea brings the same discipline: function first, form elevated, and identity expressed through environment.

Shea’s renovation philosophy is rooted in honoring the history and architectural integrity of a home while repositioning it for the way her clients live now.

With deep experience serving high-performing professionals — physicians, executives, entrepreneurs, and public figures — Shea understands the pace, complexity, and demands of her clients’ lives. Her turnkey approach is designed to protect their time while guiding every layer of the renovation, from concept and construction oversight to furnishings and final installation.

Supported by a trusted network of highly skilled artisans, contractors, and tradespeople, Shea acts as both creative director and client advocate. She brings structure, clarity, and discernment to complex projects — preserving what matters, transforming what no longer works, and creating homes with lasting value, function, and presence.

Shea’s eye for home was shaped early by movement. Raised by a serial entrepreneur, she moved often — living across 17 cities, five states, and later, three countries. That constant exposure to new places, cultures, architecture, and ways of living sharpened her curiosity and built the foundation for her work today.

Bilingual and naturally exploratory, Shea brings that global perspective into the way she sees space, identity, and home. Outside the studio, she can often be found hiking in the Texas Hill Country, painting, or traveling with her children, Katie and Jax — passing on the same curiosity, independence, and love of culture that shaped her own life.
