Kitchens designed to anticipate the way you live
A beautiful kitchen should feel almost instinctive to use. Everything where you need it. A place for the morning coffee ritual, room to prep dinner without dancing around one another, storage that quietly keeps the clutter out of sight. The best kitchens do not simply photograph well, they anticipate you.
At Studio Pumarejo, every kitchen remodel in San Antonio begins with function. We study how you cook, gather, move, store, and entertain, then design thoughtful work zones around the rhythm of your everyday life. Only after the kitchen works beautifully do we layer in the cabinetry, stone, lighting, and finishes that give it soul.
The result is a kitchen that feels effortless yet deeply considered. From the first sketch to the final detail, we serve as your interior designer and advocate, collaborating with trusted San Antonio contractors and trades to protect the vision and bring every element together as intended.

Kitchen remodel FAQs
-
The cost of a kitchen remodel can vary significantly depending on the size of the space, the scope of construction, cabinetry, appliances, fixtures, finishes, and the level of customization involved.
For the type of comprehensive, highly detailed kitchen renovations we specialize in, clients should typically plan for an overall project investment beginning around $150,000, with many projects falling in the $200,000-$300,000**+** range.
That investment may include custom cabinetry, premium appliances, countertops and stone, plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring and finishes, as well as the construction required to transform the space. Projects involving architectural changes, extensive custom detailing, or luxury materials may exceed that range.
Every project is different, so during our initial conversations we’ll help you understand what is realistic for your home, your goals, and the level of finish you envision.

A custom kitchen renovation is a highly coordinated process, and the timeline will vary depending on the scope of the project, structural changes, custom cabinetry, material selections, and product lead times.
For most of our projects, clients should plan for approximately 3-6 months of design and planning before construction begins. This allows us to thoughtfully develop the design, complete detailed construction documentation, finalize selections, place orders, and coordinate long-lead items before demolition begins.
Once construction starts, a comprehensive kitchen renovation typically takes approximately 4-6 months, depending on the complexity of the project and whether structural, architectural, or extensive custom work is involved.
We believe much of a successful renovation happens before construction ever begins. Taking the time to resolve details, coordinate trades, and order materials in advance helps minimize surprises and keeps the construction process moving as smoothly as possible.

Our relationship with the contractor can vary depending on the project and the client’s needs. On most projects, our role is to design every detail of the space and provide the contractor with comprehensive plans, specifications, and documentation to bring that vision to life.
We also handle the procurement of fixtures, finishes, and decorative materials, coordinate their arrival on site as needed, and remain actively involved throughout construction. We visit the jobsite at key stages, review electrical and plumbing rough-ins, perform electrical walk-throughs, collaborate with the contractor, and meet with subcontractors when necessary to ensure the details come together as designed.
Even with highly detailed plans and documentation, sophisticated projects often require collaboration in the field. Certain details involve multiple trades working in a specific sequence, so being on site allows us to make sure everyone understands the design intent, how the pieces come together, and their role in executing it correctly.
Most importantly, we serve as an advocate for our client throughout the process. We provide an experienced second set of eyes, helping ensure the design intent is understood, the details are executed thoughtfully, and the finished space reflects the vision we created together.
